Volta Electric has been serving Nashville homeowners and businesses since 2009. Master Electrician Matt Volta founded the company after seeing too many contractors oversell work that customers didn't need.

Our Story

17 Years. One Standard.

Matt Volta spent a decade as a journeyman at a regional electrical contractor before getting his master license in 2008. He started Volta Electric the following year with a single rule: never recommend work you wouldn’t do in your own home.

That rule has held for seventeen years. Every estimate we provide is itemized and explained. Every permit is pulled. Every job is inspected. If your panel is fine, we’ll tell you. If it’s not, we’ll show you exactly why.

We’re based at 1847 Gallatin Pike N, Nashville, TN 37206 - East Nashville. We work across the metro, but we’re not a franchise and we don’t subcontract.

Licensed, Bonded, Permitted

TN Master Electrician License

Matt holds a current Tennessee Master Electrician license - the credential the state requires for permitted work. The licence number goes on every written estimate we send.

Insured, and we prove it

We carry general liability and workers' compensation coverage. Ask and we'll email the certificates before you book - you should never take a contractor's word for this.

All Work Permitted

Every project that requires a permit gets one - no exceptions. We pull the permit, schedule inspection, and handle utility coordination.

Matt Volta

Master Electrician, Owner

Matt is a licensed Tennessee Master Electrician who has been on the tools since the late 1990s. He started Volta Electric in 2009, after years with a regional contractor where he saw too many homeowners getting oversold on work they didn't need.

Jake Kimura

Journeyman Electrician

Jake is a licensed journeyman with a specialty in residential service upgrades and EV charger installs. He's the team lead on most of our panel work.

Alicia Park

Project Manager

Alicia runs scheduling, permit coordination, and customer communication. If you've ever gotten a same-day estimate or a permit-approval text, that was Alicia.
